 PARENT INFORMATION 

Yearbook orders are due on December 21 for $70.  After December 21, the price increases to $75.  All yearbook orders are due January 31.  Yearbook orders can be dropped off in the Main Office.  Click on the below link to access and print the yearbook order form. School Portrait orders extended until Friday– It’s not too late!  Your proofs have been mailed to your home which includes your personal access code to view and order your student’s pictures online. Meeting the deadline ensures everyone receives their School Portraits before the holidays. Do you have old cell phones and printer cartridges?  If so, you can turn them into the Eastview High School Main Office.  This program has been a great way to generate resources for our school while recycling old cell phones and printer cartridges.

 

The next Nordic Ski Team Booster Club meeting will be held on Sunday, December 2, beginning at 6:30 pm., at Eastview High School, Room C250.  Parents of all Nordic team members are invited to attend.

 

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS                                                                              

Students can pick up their Q1 report cards in the Guidance Office during lunch. Parents can also access these report cards through the parent portal.  Report cards will not be mailed home.

 

The District 196 Community Education Aquatics Program offers training for jobs in Aquatics. The American Red Cross Lifeguarding for Pools and Waterparks course, for ages 15 and up, will be held Saturdays from 9:00 am – 6:00 pm and Sundays from noon to 6:00 pm. on December 1, 2, 8, and 9.   Visit our website at http://www.district196.org/ce/pdf/LifeguardTraining.pdf for further information. All 9th graders are encouraged to keep reading so they can enter the next drawing.  To read student reviews of books on the list, click on the SOAR link on the Media Center page.

COLLEGE AND SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION                                                                                        

Seniors!!!  The Burger King Scholarship application is available at www.bk.com/scholars   Criteria to apply include working  part-time on an average of 15 hours a week anywhere, involved in community service activities and demonstrate financial need.  See Guidance Office for further information.  Applications are available online thru February 15.

 

ATTENTION SENIORS:  Please review your college applications and submit them to the Guidance Office by the following dates:

Applications with a December 15 deadlines:   DUE NOW

Applications with a January 1 deadline:           Submit by December 3

Applications with a January 15 deadline:         Submit by December 11

Applications with a February 1 deadline:         Submit by January 10 

 

If you are a Senior and need an updated Honors Transcript by December 1, please contact Mrs. Gerrits in the Guidance Office.

 

Honors Transcripts will be available by the end of next week.  

 

ATHLETIC ANNOUNCEMENTS                                                                                                

Attention Ballers and Wannabe Ballers: The deadline for IM Basketball Sign-up is Monday! Sign-up in the Main Office before it’s too late!

Games are played on Monday and Wednesday Evenings. The cost is $70. Stop procrastinating and sign-up TODAY!

         

All 9th, 10th and 11th grade football players not in a winter sport must complete their Strength Testing after school today.


The ISD 196 Nordic Ski team will host their annual pancake breakfast next Sunday, December 2, from 8:00 am - 1:00 pm at the American Legion in Apple Valley, located at 14521 Granada Ave.  Tickets are available from any Nordic skier, or at the door for $6.00.  Thanks for your support - hope to see you there!


The Wrestlers would like to invite all students and wrestling fans to the upcoming Eastview Duals this Saturday, December 1.  Wrestling begins at 9:00 am and continues through 3:00 pm. 

 

SPORT SCORES                                                                                              

The Lightning Dance Team won for the second week in a row at Tuesday night’s High Kick meet at Burnsville. The team travels to Brainerd this Saturday for their first invitational meet of the season.

 

On Tuesday the Girls Varsity Hockey team made history defeating South St. Paul for the first time in program history 1-0. A total team effort helped keep the packers off the board. Lindsay Kauchick made 24 saves earning her first shut out of the year. Kayla Terlinde celebrated her birthday by scoring the game winning goal midway through the third period. The Lightning play host to Rosemount on Thursday at 6:00 pm. Come cheer on the girls as they take on another Lake Conference opponent.

 

ARTS AND ACTIVITIES                                                                                           

Fiddler on the Roof tickets go on sale this evening from 5-8 pm.  Numbers to hold your place in line will be distributed starting at 3:00 pm by 1st floor concessions by the Gym.  Depending on ticket availability, additional Box Office hours are Monday, December 3 from 2:30- 4 pm, Tuesday December 4 from 6-7 pm, and Wednesday December 5 from 2:30-4 pm.  The Box Office is always open 1 hour before each performance, and performances are December 7, 8, 14, and 15 at 7:30 pm and Sunday, December 9 at 2:00 pm. We look forward to seeing you at the show!

 

Attention All Ski & Snowboard Club members:  We are planning to make our first trip to Welch Village today.  Bus leaves at 3:00 pm and returns at 10:00 pm from the West doors.  Equipment can be stored in the B1 cluster area before school- Please see MR G in the B1 office with questions.

 

If you are interested in joining Student Council pick up an application outside Room C336.

 

The Voices staff will meet after school on Wednesday for Yearbook pictures.   All staff members should plan to attend for this photo op.
