SPORT SCORES
On Tuesday the Girls Varsity Hockey team took on #18 Cretin-Derham Hall. Defenders
Ashley Maskel, Sarah Moran, Kayla Terlide, Laura Beitzel & Amy Tanner would
be tasked with keeping the Raiders away from the net. While forwards Lindsey
Day, Christine Fries, Courtney Kukowski, Lisa Gorman, Laura Gengler, Emily
Snodgrass, Meaghan Brigl, Mackenzie Caughey, Kaitlyn Leininger & Kayla
Willer would try to keep the puck in Cetin's end.
The Lightning opened the scoring on Courtney Kukowski's first
varsity goal in the first period. A key poke check by goalie Alicia
Freeman (23 saves) allowed the Lightning to keep the lead going into
the second period. The second period saw action at both end of the ice. A
penalty late in the period allowed Cretin to score on the power
play & tie the game 1-1. Cretin would score another power
play goal early in the third to take the lead 2-1, this would prove to be the
difference. Eastview would not give up, but could not manage
another goal. Come cheer on the girls as the Lightning take on
crosstown rivals Apple Valley Thursday. JV @ 5:15, V @ 7:15.
On Tuesday the Girls JV Hockey team took on Cretin-Derham Hall. For the

Cretin 7-0. The defense of Brooke Hill(1G), Allison Schreiner, Taylor
Feinhage(1G), Carlie Wagner(1A) and Lindsey Wilharm(2G,1A) allowed
Goalie Lindsay Kauchick to get the shutout. Pressure by forwards Amy Hart(1G),
Sam Dibble(1G,1A), Sammi Nelson(1A), Kelly Meyer, Sophie DesLauriers(1G,3A) and
Amanda Porranto(1A) kept the Cretin team off ballance.
