EVHS Introduces B.O.L.T.S.
2008…Building Our Learning Throughout Summer!
We are building on our traditional summer programs by
offering a series of elective-credit academic camps focusing on enrichment and
skill development. Check out our BOLTS
2008 Registration Guide, with course descriptions (13 courses
available, from each of the four core content areas as well as several elective
areas), session scheduling (four different sessions running from June
23 – July 24), and registration information (register online!).
These camps and courses are tuition-based, with financial aid available. Contact

COLLEGE
Juniors and Seniors!! If
you are interested in the healthcare field, you have an opportunity to
spend 2 full days in a hospital setting accompanying a physician on their
hospital rounds, watch actual procedures as they are being performed and
questioning medical students and residents. The course is July 31 thru
August 1 and the cost is $150. Students are accepted on a first-come
first-served basis. Pick up a packet and registration from in the
Guidance Office.
Deadline registration for the June 14 ACT test is Friday, May 9. Registration for

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Would you like to enrich your children’s lives? Help them make an international friend? Give them a summer to remember? Host a French student this summer! There are many students who still need host families. You provide room and board, include them in your regular summer activities and get an incredible experience for your family. Students are coming in three groups: June 16-July 17, July 8-28 and July 9-28. An informational meeting will be held Sunday, April 27 in Bloomington. participated in the Rosemount Triangular at Emerald Greens in
The JV Softball team split a double-header
against Lakeville South on Saturday taking the first game 2 - 1 in extra
innings before dropping the second with a score of 7 - 6. In the first
game, with 2 outs in the 8th, three straight singles by Kayleigh
Montgomery, Carlie Wagner and Sam Mahoney brought the
game winning run across the plate. In the second game, the Lightning scored 3
in the first and 3 in the third, but could not capitalize on a fourth inning
scoring opportunity and went down in order in the fifth, sixth and seventh
innings. Angela Koppen and Sophie Williams each
had 2 hits and Sara Griffith struck out 7 in 4 2/3 innings.
The Freshman
Softball team swept a double header from Lakeville South on Saturday by the
scores of 14-13 and 5-4.In the first game, it was a hit parade, with timely
hits by Taylor Sharp, Kaitlyn Lindner, and Abby Stern
contributing to the win. The second game went 8 innings with Taylor Sharp
scoring the winning run on a hit by Katie Peterson. Paige Palkovich
was the winning pitcher in both games with a total of 8 strike outs in the 2
