available, from each of the four core content areas as well as several elective
areas), session scheduling (four different sessions running from June

Attention Parents of Juniors: Each year
the parents of the Junior Class are responsible for the breaking down of the Senior
Party decorations. We need many more volunteers for the morning of June
14 to quickly help clear the Commons Area. The proper dismantling and
storing of the reusable decorations is the first step toward a successful 2009
Class Party. The tear-down is an excellent way to see how the party is put
together while generating conversations about next year’s event.
Volunteer yourself today. Volunteer your friends tomorrow. Send your contact
information to: Wade Janson Eastview2009@gmail.com,

Junior parents: On Monday, May 5, the senior parents invited you to your
2009 Senior Party Kick Off Meeting. While several people attended and
volunteered for positions, we did not receive volunteers to Chair the 2009 Senior Party. Please consider chairing, co-chairing or
tri-chairing this position for your students. It would be great if you
could have a chair in place before the end of the school year. This year, we
had three chairs and it worked out great. You are welcome to reach out to
any of us if you have questions. Sandy

Get ready to relay on June 27! Each year, across
the nation, one event brings together entire communities to take part in the
fight against cancer. That event is the American Cancer Society Relay For Life. It’s a time and place where
people come to celebrate those who have survived cancer, remember those we’ve
lost, and fight back against a disease that touches too many lives. Won’t you
join us this year and be a part of Relay? Register for or donate to the Relay

Would you like to enrich your children’s lives? Help them make an international friend? Give them a summer to remember? Earn a discount on the next French trip? Host a French student this summer! There are still some students who need host families. You provide room and board, include them in your regular summer activities and get an incredible experience for your family and maybe make a life-long friend. If you cannot host, perhaps you have a friend or neighbor who might be interested in hosting, so please pass this along to them. Students are coming in three groups: June 16-July 17, July 8-28 and July 9-28. If you are interested in hearing more, please contact Mary Kuettner at mary.kuettner@district196.org

The 9B
Baseball team had another "10-run" game beating Sibley
11-1. Corey Woods got his first chance to pitch this year and did an
excellent job in 3 innings. Erik Edsten came in for the first time since
getting the "okay" from the doc, and Sean Devine finished off the
game; both pitched very well. On offense Devine scored 3 times, and
Scottie Sikich had a double and a single to lead the way. The team was
okay on defense, but with great pitching, didn’t have a lot to worry
about. The boys are on a 13 game winning streak bringing their record to
13-2. They play Lakeville North on Monday at home in the last game of the
season.
The Boys
Varsity Golf team secured a third place finish in the conference yesterday
at Inverwood shooting a 311. Johnny Greene continued his solid play with a 74.
Junior Blake Brunn played steady golf firing a 77. Other contributing scores
included Senior Captain Tyler Krob and senior Danny Gengler with 80’s. Wish
them luck as they prepare for a tough battle at Sections on Monday.
On
Wednesday the 9th Grade Softball team defeated Chaska in 7
innings by the score of 8-0. Paige Palkovich led the way pitching the
shut out.
On
Thursday, the 9th grade softball lost to Lakeville North for the
second time this year, this time by the score of 7-0.
The Sophomore
Baseball team defeated Bloomington Jefferson 4-0 on Wednesday behind a
complete game from Nolan Titchner. Lucas Haug, Mike Wachter, Matt Decovich,
Andrew Melroe, and Kellen Kersten contributed to a three run second
inning. Austin Lindemann, Matt Barker, and Zak Stehlin, and Mike
Radermacher led the defensive effort.
