Perspectives on Parenting is
sponsoring a seminar on “College Financial Aid (FAFSA, Loans, Scholarship
and Grants)” tomorrow night at 7:00 pm in the

Parking
passes can be picked up during lunch at the school store today &
tomorrow. Semester 2 passes are
not valid until Monday, February 4. Please continue to
use Semester 1 passes through January 31.
On Monday, January 28 a portion of all sales at Noodles & Company between the hours of 4:00-8:00 p.m. will be
donated to the boy's basketball program. No ID is required, you don't even need
to mention Eastview. Just grab your family and friends and eat at Noodles on
Monday to help support boys basketball.

LATE registration for the February 9 ACT test

Girls!!!! The American Legion Auxiliary is sponsoring the Minnesota Girls State program at
Seniors!!! The Minnesota Masonic Charities Signature
Scholarship application is due February 15. Five scholarships are
awarded for $5,000.00 renewable for up to $20,000 for up to four years.

The Varsity
Boys’ Basketball team improved to 9-3 on the season with a come from behind

Eastview's JV Boys Basketball team dropped a heartbreaker on Tuesday night in
double overtime to
The 9A Boys Basketball team lost Tuesday night 45-36 to the Eagles of
Apple Valley. The Lightning played great team defense causing the Eagles
to turn the ball over and rush shots. Leading the way in scoring for
Eastview was Paul McWilliams with 19. The loss dropped their record to
12-4. The Lightning are on the road Friday night for a battle against
Rosemount.
The 9B
Boys Basketball team cruised to a victory last night at Apple Valley
defeated the Eagles 68 - 22. Defense was
the name of the game for the Lightning as they forced dozens of turnovers and
converted many of them into easy baskets.
Tray Cumber led the way offensively with 21 points and Jake Goetz, Kyle
Jonas, and Hunter Abrahamson led the way defensively. Up next for the B team is Friday at
Rosemount.
The Lightning Girls’ Varsity
Basketball team kept their perfect conference record alive, running it to
12-0, with a home victory over Jefferson.
At the end of the first half the Lightning jumped out to a 16 point
lead, doubling up Jefferson 32-16. At
the beginning of the second half the Lightning expanded the lead and never
looked back. 13 Lightning players
scored, led by Brittnye McSparron with 15 points, followed closely by Danae
Moore with 11 and Cassie Sheppard with 9.
Emily Kaus led the team in rebounds with 7, with Cassie Sheppard
snagging 6. The Lightning return to Lake
Conference action on Friday with a road game at district rival Eagan.
Thanks to the band and the fans for their support last night, join us at Eagan
for another Lake Conference battle. Go Lightning!
Your Eastview Lightning Girls Gymnastics teams outscored
Chaska yesterday in a dual meet at Chaska. Varsity scored a 139.875 vs. Chaska’s 137.25. The ladies had
a solid night on the balance beam with Erika Ellingsen getting her highest
score ever --- a 9.075. Emma Webster rocked on floor exercise with her
all-time high --- an 8.8. The team welcomed back Brooke Hanegraaf who has
been out for a few meets with an injury. The ladies took 1st,
2nd and 4th in the All Around category – 1st
going to Kjirsten Jacobson, 2nd to Erika Ellingsen and 4th
to Jessie Huff. Congratulations! The JV gymnasts also outscored Chaska – 125.65 vs. 112.85.
Brianne Mathiesen took 1st in All Around and Erin Gorski placed
third. The team welcomed back Nikki Russell who has been out ill for
several weeks and has been missed. Way to go JV! The gymnasts have a
week’s rest – come cheer them on in their last home meet before Sections on
Tuesday, February 5th as they take on Lakeville South at 6:30 in the
North Gym
The JV
Boys Hockey team lost to Eden Prairie Tuesday night by a score of
9-1. The only Eastview goal was scored by Tony Companion with an assist
from Shane Sjostrom. The next JV hockey game is Saturday January 26 at
Rosemount at 5:30 pm.
The Boys Swim and Dive team
dropped a close contest at Apple Valley last night. The JV squad did post a victory with 1st places coming from
Keaton Hewitt, Dirk Gaynor, Garrett Biddiscombe, John Cayton, and Nick Akason.
The team competes Saturday in the True Team State meet at the U of M.
The Dakota Hawks Floor Hockey team
kept up their perfect record which is now 4-0, with a 4-3 victory over Rochester.
Eric Liggett had two assists.
Plan now to attend the second annual Coffee

Eastview National
Honor Society, in recognition of Black
History Month is excited to present Ms. Nancy Giles to speak on Monday,
February 11 beginning at 7:00 pm in the Performing Arts Center. Ms. Giles
is a regular contributor to the CBS Sunday Morning television program and an
accomplished journalist. Admission is FREE and open to the public; we

All Science Olympiad members
need to meet Friday, January 25 after school in C339 to determine the regional
teams and to load boxes. Any team member who was NOT at the Lake Conference
Tournament is asked to meet with Coach Engstrom ASAP for a t-shirt.
