sponsoring a seminar on “College Financial Aid (FAFSA, Loans, Scholarship
and Grants)” on Thursday, January
24 at 7:00 pm in

Senior parents—work shop for senior posters is this Thursday, January 17 from 7-8 pm in the
Student Commons. We have examples of past posters to help spark your
ideas. We will also walk you through the simple skills it takes to put
together an awesome poster. There will be two other workshops on
Tuesday, February 12 and Saturday, March 15. More information about

The 2008 Futsal Tournament
registration forms are now located in the Main Office. Do you like to
place soccer? Do you like tournaments? If so, find some friends and

The Varsity and JV Alpine Ski team finished 4th
in the Overall Team Cup standings at the First Annual Buck Hill Invite last
Friday. Junior Stuart Zeilon led the
Eastview boys, followed by Sam Ferguson, Allan Newman, Kyle Williams, and Ross
Nygren. Captain Hannah Newman led the
Eastview girls, followed by Annika Torbenson, Karin Nordmeyer, Rachel Fishcer,
and Ally Lawrence.
Eastview Dance Department presents “Works
in Progress”! Come out and see what the
students have choreographed this quarter! We got everything from a 70’s
mix to a dance with Umbrellas! Also
featuring performances by the Lighting
Dance Team! And a musical review of “Big Spender” and “Bring on
the Men”!!! Friday, January 18 at 7:00 pm in the PAC! ALL Tickets $5.00(You can also
purchase tickets in the dance studio from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm Wednesday through
Friday.)
Congratulations to the Mock Trial
team for their 8th and 12th place finish at the Lake Conference
tournament over the weekend. Evan Friedley and Steven Westergren were
awarded Best Lawyer for their performances and Gia Sonsalla, Amanda English and
Steven Westergren were awarded Best Witness for their performances.
Congratulations to the Eastview Business
Professionals of America Team for their outstanding performance at the 2008
Regional Competition held at Century College on Friday, January 11th.
Every person who participated in the regional competition placed in the top ten
of at least one of their events!

To all Student Council Members and those interested in Relay For Life: The Relay for Life of Apple Valley has started its
planning process. Relay for Life is designed to make people aware of the
issues of cancer and resources available for people who have cancer and to
raise money for research for cures for cancer. On December 18, several students
from EVHS and AVHS and SES met to start planning for the June Relay. The
Relay will be held on June 27, 2008 and the goal this year is to have 25 teams
and raise $45,000. Last year we raised $20,000 at the Apple Valley
event. The next planning meeting will be at EVHS at 2:40 on January 15 in
room C250 and anyone who would like to participate is welcome. Meetings
will happen every month on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at EVHS
(February 19, March 18, April 15, May 20 and June 17). You don’t have to
be able to come to every meeting to be part of the planning for the Relay.
The Eastview Science Olympiad
team brought 3 teams to the first-ever Wayzata Invitational on Saturday,
January 12. Our teams finished in 7th,
10th, and 11th place. In seven of 19 events, groups of 2
or 3 students earned 2nd or 3rd place medals.
We will have a Science
Olympiad meeting today at 2:30 pm in C339
All Ski & Snowboard Club members who have signed up
for the January Breckenridge trip must see Mr Gustafson in the B1 office (B127)
this week to pick up some important trip information.
Attention all Yearbookers!!
There will be a mandatory
Yearbook Lightyear meeting for ALL members today at 3:00 in the Yearbook
