Club meeting tonight at 7:00 in the East Commons. All are welcome to
attend.
Senior
parents—there's less than five months until your Senior Poster is due! Keep your stress low—attend a workshop
now to get started. The first workshop is next Thursday, January 17 from 7-8
pm in the student commons. Remember you need only kindergarten skills to
put together an awesome poster - so don't be intimidated! There will be two
other workshops on Tuesday, February 12 and Saturday, March 15.

Quest Unending – our June 4, 2007 celebration of 10 years of Performing
Arts at
GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
We are looking for Prom Committee
members for Prom 2008. If you are a junior and interested in joining the
committee please get an application form Ms. Winslow in the Main Office or from
Mrs. Huhner (C138) or Mrs. Sherwin (A110). Applications are due,
Wednesday, January 16.
Any sophomores and juniors interested in being in the 4Cast or the Flash for
next year should attend an informational meeting on Tuesday, January 15 at
either 7:00 or 2:30 in the TV Studio. See Mr. Krebs or Mr. Fornicoia with
questions.

LATE registration for the February 9 ACT Test

IM Basketball games will be played on Monday, January

IM Bowling starts
today right after school at Apple Place Bowl so get your registrations in by
Wednesday.
The 2008 Futsal Tournament
registration forms are now located in the Main Office. Do you like to
place soccer? Do you like tournaments? If so, find some friends and
make up a team for a Saturday of Futsal!

SCORES
The Boys JV Basketball team fell
to Lakeville North on Friday with a score of 49-46. Collin Reidlinger led EV
with 18 points and had 11 rebounds and Drew Bjordal added 14 points. With 14 seconds left in the game, the
lightning had the ball down by 1, with 2 seconds left they could not convert a
contested lay-up for the win. The Lightning are now 7-2 on the season.
On Friday the Eastview Lightning Boy’s 10th
Grade Basketball team defeated a tough Lakeville North team. Steven
Denzer’s tough defense and great rebounding, was key to our victory.
Jordan Kuhn gave us great spark off of the bench; his rebounding also helped us
in our victory. Austin Brown dished out 7 assist. Brad Losse
grabbed 7 rebounds. Please continue to support all extra curricular
activities, as we will continue to represent Eastview and also the community to
the best of our abilities. Thank you!
The 9A Boys Basketball
team added four more wins this weekend improving their overall record to
11-3. The boys started the weekend with a 51-36 home win over
Shakopee on Friday night. The Lightning spent the rest of the
weekend at Apple Valley High school competing in their tournament.
In pool play Eastview defeated Edina
45-37, and Rosemount 42-35. The championship game pitted the Lightning
against Woodbury, with Eastview ending up on the winning side
40-36. The Eastview community should be proud of the boys, they
represented you with great sportsmanship and hard work.
Congratulations Shane McSparron, Lethzee Calderon, David Barry, Derek
Schatz, Ryan Oscar, Frank Veldman, Andre Hunt, Paul McWilliams, Jacob
Ulrich. The Lightning are on the road Tuesday at Chaska.
The 9B BoysBasketball team
concluded a weekend full of games with a Championship at the Apple Valley
Tournament. Friday the Lightning played
host to Shakopee and after trailing by more than 20 with under 7 minutes to go,
Eastview eventually lost by 7. Saturday
and Sunday were better days as the Lightning were only behind for only 1 minute
in the entire tournament. Defeating
Woodbury by 20, Lakeville South by 12, and Rosemount by 10. Jake Goetz and Trayjohn Cumber led the way
offensively for the Lightning. Up next
is Chaska away on Tuesday.
Congratulations to the JV Lightning Dance Team who placed 2nd
at the Maple Grove Invitational this past Saturday. The Varsity and JV teams
will travel to the Wayzata Invitational this coming weekend.
The Varsity
Boys Hockey team beat Lakeville South 3-2 Sat. afternoon to kick off the
seond half of their season. Goals came from Fienhage, Larson and Perry.
Senior goalie Tyler Krob was in net for the win. The Lightning take on Apple
Valley Tuesday night at Apple Valley. Thanks to all who've come out
to support the team!
The JV
Hockey team just passed the half way mark in their season and
post a record of 7 wins, 7 loses and 2 ties. Last Tuesday they
executed a big win over Kennedy, winning 9-2. First to score from
Eastview was Nick Reynolds with assists from Ross Lundholm and Corey
Hansen. Scoring a few minutes later was Clay Denicola with assists from
Tony Companion and Corey Hansen. The final Eastview goal in the 1st
period was delivered by Joe Desrocher with assists from Peter
Zukanoff and Greg Smidl. The scoring continued in the 2nd
period with Eastview scoring 5 goals, 2 by Greg Smidl, 1 by Peter
Zukanoff, 1 by Shane Sjostrom and 1 by Luke Trepanier. In the 3rd
period Greg Smidl scored the only goal, giving him a "hat trick"
for the game. On Saturday the JV team tied Lakeville South 4 - 4.
Scoring in the 1st period was Clay Denicola with an
assist from Shane Sjostrom. Greg Smidl scored in 2nd period,
tying the game 2-2. In the 3rd period
Eastview scored twice with goals from Luke Trepanier and
Shane Sjostrum, giving Eastview a 4-2 lead. But with less then 2 minutes
left in the game Lakeview South scored twice to end the game in a tie.
The Varsity
Wrestling team earned its 10th win of the season by defeating
Wayzata 41-30. Earning wins were Rechtzigel, Hogan, Ly, Galloway,
Groskreutz, Okonek, Bowar, Scott, & Kenning.
IM Bowling!!! League starts today at
Apple Place Bowl. Make sure your money and permission slips are turned in
to Ms. Beckmann in the Main Office and get to Apple Place by 2:50 for warmups, bowling starts at
3:00 pm sharp.
Eastview Dance Department presents “Works
in Progress”! Come out and see what the
students have choreographed this quarter! We got everything from a 70’s
mix to a dance with Umbrellas! Also
featuring performances by the Lighting
Dance Team! And a musical review of “Big Spender” and “Bring on
the Men”!!! Friday, January 18 at 7:00 pm in the PAC! ALL Tickets $5.00(You can also
purchase tickets in the dance studio from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm Wednesday through
Friday.)
The Boys Swimming and Diving team easily handled Eagan and
posted a victory last Friday. There were several impressive performances
including Jon McDonald tying the Pool record in the 100 Breaststroke. Posting
1st for the lightning include Matt Lilledahl, Sam Rauchwarter, Mike Placeway,
Nate Riha, Phil Kapalka, Dan Gengler and Matt Powers.
Congratulations to Akshar Rambachan and Jake Branchaud-Linsk who both went
undefeated at the Section I Debate
tournament, finishing first and second. They now advance to the state
Lincoln-Douglas debate tournament this weekend. Eastview debaters Barbara
Marchevsky and Patrick Moran won the classic state debate championship earlier
in the season.
FCCLA members: There
is a required M&M meeting for all members tonight at 7:00 pm in C139.

our Yearbook photo. Please plan to attend.
