SPORT SCORES

The Girls JV Hockey team closed out their season with a win and a loss this past weekend. Thursday night the Lightning avenged an earlier loss to Eagan by playing team hockey and working hard to defeat the Wildcats 2-1. Scoring for the Lightning were Sami Nelson and Lindsey Wilharm. Alicia Freeman recorded the win in the net. On Saturday Eastview played Eden Prairie for the fourth time this year. The Eagle’s have proven to be a formidable opponent for the JV team. After losing 2 close games and winning one, the Lightning were looking to even the record on Saturday. Eden Prairie managed to jump out to a 3-0 lead but the Lightning fought their way back to 3-2 on goals by Kelly Meyer and Lindsey Wilharm. Late in the third period, with the goalie pulled and time running out Carlie Wagner scored to make it 4-3. What started out as a blow out came down to the final 30 seconds with the Lightning coming up just short of notching the game at 4 goals each. Great team effort! All in all, it has been a very successful season for the Girls JV team and all the players and coaches should be proud. Thank you for all the thrills!

The Boys Swim and Dive team competed in a rare Triple-duel meet last Friday. The meet format had three teams all competing against each other for head-to-head scoring. The Lightning split the night with a victory against Lakeville South and a loss against Lakeville North. The team continues to improve and have faster times. First place finishers included Sam Rauchwarter, Jon McDonald, Mike Placeway, Matt Powers, Patrick O'Neill, and Matt Lilledahl.
