SPORT SCORES

The Varsity Boys Basketball team improved to 15-5 on the season last night with an impressive 78-40.  7 players scored 8 or more points.

The Lightning Girls’ Varsity Basketball team kept their perfect conference record alive, running it to 19-0 with a 69-58 win on the road at Lakeville North.  As always this was a classic rival game against a very competitive Lakeville squad.  The Lightning started out slow, with Lakeville building an early 10 point lead, but came back to take a 6 point halftime lead, 34-28.  The Panthers would not go away, battling all the way, but the Lightning prevailed with a 11 point win. Brittnye McSparron, once again led the Lightning’s attack with 26 points, followed by Danae Moore’s 17 points.  Senior starting teammates, Brittany Rud, and Cassie Sheppard and Junior Sam Mehr combined with strong play off the bench from Emily Kaus, Haley Thomforde, and Kelsey North helped secure the win.   The Lightning complete Lake Conference action on Friday with a road game against Kennedy on Friday and look forward to the beginning of Section 3 competition next week.    Thanks again to our great fans for taking it on the road, come support us on Friday at Kennedy as we look to complete a perfect Lake Conference season. Go Lightning!
