PARENT SECTION
Parents: We need a volunteer to greet at the North Door. We are looking for help from 8:15-11:00 am on February 25, and 29. Please contact Paula Zeilon at 952-423-7142 or pcnews@charter.net if you can help! New volunteers are welcome.
Boys Lacrosse Player/Parent Meeting - Wednesday, February 27 – 6:30 pm - C250 next week, Boys Lacrosse will be having a mandatory player/parent meeting for all prospective players of the upcoming spring season. If a player cannot attend due to an Eastview activity, attendance of a parent is still requested. The Lacrosse booster club will also be setting up apparel orders after this meeting.

Attention Seniors! Tomorrow seniors are to report directly to their homeroom to complete some important graduation information.
If you are an Eagan resident, you may apply for the Eagan Foundation Scholarship at http://www.eaganfoundation.org/ The completed application must be postmarked February 29 and the applicants will all be notified around mid-April.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Students who missed the registration homeroom last week can pick up their registration materials in the Guidance Office before or after school or during the lunch period. If you have any questions regarding your class registration, please see the counselors in the commons during 5th period.
COLLEGE AND SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION
The Career Center will be open tomorrow evening from 4:00 pm to 7:30 pm.

Minnesota Zoo Career Days is on March 11. Students interested in science careers including zoo keeping, animal handling, veterinarian, etc. are highly recommend to attend. Register online at mnzoo.org The cost is $30. Further information can be picked up in the Guidance Office.
Minnesota Zoo Job Fair ~ Food Service staff are needed at the Minnesota Zoo. The Job Fair is on Tuesday, February 26 from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at the Zoo. Flyers can be picked up in the Guidance Office.
Materials Camp at a U of MN –Twin Cities is June 10–14. Juniors and sophomores interested in learning about the materials engineering field are encouraged to attend. It is free and applications are online at http://www.mnasm.org/camp/ and are due March 30. Teacher recommendation is also required and to be completed online. Varsity Dance Team members...reminder there is a short meeting at 2:30 in the Dance Studio.
There will be an informational meeting for all Boys interested in playing Golf this spring tomorrow at 2:35 in Room C250. Topics of discussion include information on the tryout process, pre-season practice, team expectations, etc. If you cannot make the meeting please see Coach Wanous in the Guidance Office after February 20 for tryout information. Golf season officially begins on March 10.
Attention Downhill Ski team members: There is a short post season meeting for all skiers tomorrow at 2:45 in the East Commons.

Eastview has been chosen to participate in the School Spirit Bracket Challenge. 64 schools will meet head to head until one school can claim the title. The Winner will receive the Spirit Cup plus FOX 9 News will come do a live newscast from our school. Show how much spirit our school has and Vote! SPORT SCORES
The Sophomore Boys Basketball team defeated Lakeville South last Friday at Lakeville 53-41.Corey Styles had three steals and eight rebounds.Brad Losee set the tone with tough interior defense and unselfish play. Austin brown had seven assists and 2 steals. Steven Rodemacher came off the bench to spark a nine point run that propelled the lightning to victory. Isaiah Thomas scored thirteen points and Karl Otto had 18 to lead the way. Mike Myslinski and Jordan Kuhn set up other players and were very unselfish. Scott Burgess, David Percel and Steve Denzer played hard on the defensive end to finish it up.
The 9A Boys Basketball team added to the win column Friday night by defeating Bloomington Jefferson 69-58. The victory improves their record to 23-5 overall and 11-3 in the Lake Conference. The Lightning showed patience's on offense against a packed 2-3 zone getting some easy inside lay-ups by Frank Veldman and Paul McWilliams, and some nice jump shots by Shane McSparron. Eastview had a 34-15 edge in rebounding, with McWilliams pulling down 11 boards on his own. Leading the way in scoring were Veldman with 18, McSparron 17, McWilliams and Lethzee Calderon 11 each. Next up for Eastivew is Tuesday at Lakeville North.
Prior to the Friday night game the five seniors on the Lightning Varsity Girls Basketball squad: Brittany Rayman, Brittnye McSparron, Brittany Rud, Danae Moore, and Cassie Sheppard were honored for their contributions to the basketball program for the past 4 years. This group has won the Lake Conference the past two years. All five seniors started on this the last regular season home game. The seniors played well and the Lightning built a 12 point 41-29 halftime lead and added on it in the second half to come away with the 70-52 win. The Lightning Girls’ Varsity Basketball team kept their perfect conference record alive, running it to 18-0. Brittnye McSparron led the Lightning offense attack with 20 points, with Danae Moore contributing 17 and Brittany Rud 12. Emily Kaus led the Lightning in rebounding with 6 with Danae Moore and Brittnye McSparron each getting 5. The Lightning return to Lake Conference action today with a road game against Lakeville North. Come on the road and support us as we attempt to complete our Lake Conference schedule perfect and get ready for the upcoming sections. Thanks for the great support on Friday. Congratulations again to our five wonderful seniors who have done so much for the program throughout their careers. Go Lightning!
Congratulations to the Lightning Dance Team on outstanding performances at the State Dance Team Tournament this past weekend. The team made it to Jazz finals on Friday night and placed 3rd in the State on Saturday in High Kick. The team was led this season by seniors Christie Cutter, Emily Peters, Christie Wong and Gabby Mokry. A special congratulations goes out to Christie Cutter and Paige Campbell for being selected to the All-Tournament Jazz team and to Emily Peters and Kait Ullrich who were to named to the All-Tournament Kick team. A huge thank you to all the LDT dedicated fans who supported the team throughout the entire season.
The Varsity Boys Hockey team finished their regular season with a road win over Bloomington Kennedy. The Lightning put 9 points on the board and the Eagles were scoreless. DeRocher, Trombley, and Maloney each had two goals while Friedman, Larson and Perry added one each for the win. Minding the nets for EV- Krob for 2 periods and O'Shea for the final period. The Lightning begin their section playoffs Thursday evening at Apple Valley Sports Center taking on the Eagles of Apple Valley. Go Lightning!
Congratulations to Kjirsten Jacobson of the Lightning Girls Gymnastics team who advanced to the State Gymnastics Meet on balance beam and in all-around at the Section 3AA Championship Friday night! Kjirsten scored a 9.575 on beam (3rd place) and a 36.875 for all-around (4th place). KJ also placed 6th on floor exercise, 8th on bars and 10th on vault. Congrats also to Erika Ellingsen who placed 7th on beam and Jessie Huff who captured 7th on floor. These three girls led the Lightning to a 4th place overall finish. The other section team members included Erica Anders, Sarah Condon, Erin Gorski, Brooke Hanegraaf, Morgan Paulson, Brittany Stumpf and Emma Webster. Special kudos are also sent out to head coach Jodi Ramboldt who was named Section 3AA Coach of the Year! We’re proud of all of you! Come cheer KJ on at the State meet Saturday, February 23 in St. Paul.
Congratulations to the District 196 Figure Skating team who just returned from the Winter Classic competition in Florida this past weekend. The team had an amazing showing with every skater placing in their individual events. For our large team events the production number took first place on Saturday night. The competition ended on Sunday with our Varsity Synchro team taking home the gold!! Congratulations to the following skaters!!
