SPORT SCORES

Varsity Baseball - The Lightning improved their record to 7-0 with a victory over Bloomington Jefferson 6-3.  The Lightning were led by the pitching of Nick Dolsky who recorded 10 strikeouts in 5 innings.  Hitting stars included Cory Eul with 3 hits, Ben Wagner and Joe Peters with 2 hits each.  The Lightning will be back in action again on Wednesday at home against Lakeville South.

JV Baseball - Mark Gauger started and got the win by spreading out 7 hits and 4 runs (3 earned) over 4 2/3 innings. Down 3-0 in the bottom of the 2nd, Mark's strong performance got a shot in the arm when Taylor Augustin, batting with the bases loaded, turned on an 0-1 pitch and crushed a powerful line drive that quickly got over the right field fence for a grand slam homerun. Taylor wasn't done with heroic efforts for the day. He came in to get the save by pitching out of a jam in both the 5th and 6th innings (neither of his creation). He showed great poise as the defense around him was struggling and the other team was mounting a comeback. Taylor strongly closed the game in the 7th for a 1-2-3 inning, putting the exclamation point on a great win for the lightning and a day he is sure to remember for a long time. Congratulations Taylor and thanks for leading us to a 6-5 victory over Jefferson on Monday!!!

The Freshman Softball team suffered a tough 3-2 loss in 10 innings at Farmington on Monday.  The team went ahead 2-1 in the top of the 10th inning only to give up 2 runs in the bottom of the 10th.  Paige Palkovich led the way with solid pitching and also hitting a lead off home run.

Boys’ Varsity Tennis - The boys lost to a very good Apple valley Team 6-1 on Monday winning our only match was our youngster Will Biernat an 8th Grader at number 4 Singles

The Varsity Softball team fell to a hard-hitting Farmington team yesterday.  Lindsay Spanton singled and scored, and Katie Donlan hit a long double to dead center to highlight the offense.

The 9A Baseball team defeated Jefferson 17-2 on Monday.  Ty McDevitt won his second game of the year and Jacob Ulrich, David Barry, and Alec DesLauriers-Knop led the offense
