This year marks the
beginning of my 14th year in Secondary Education. I never tire of working with high school students and fellow colleagues in this profession. This school year, I have the wonderful opportunity of serving as a part time Literacy Coordinator for Eastview High School while also implementing a new reading intervention program here for students in grades 9-12. I am also pursuing a doctoral degree in K-12 Educational Leadership from Argosy University and serving as an adjunct instructor for Augsburg College. I look forward to a great year teaching and learning with our Eastview readers as well as collaborating with my colleagues in developing strategies to improve adolescent literacy. When I am not deep in study, reliving the scholarly part of my college days, I am playing with my children-- Andrew (born in
July 2000) and Ainsley (born in March 2004), or spending time with my
husband--Black Hawk 7th grade American Studies Teacher and Eastview 9th grade football coach, Carl Plucker.
I look forward to a great 2008-2009 school year.
