Baseball, Softball, Boys’ Tennis and Girls’ Lacrosse: Each of these teams have concluded their seasons with a number of great individual and team accomplishments!
Boys’ Track and Field: The Boys Track and Field team ended the season with a 9th place finish at the State Championship this weekend. The team also ended with 3 All State athletes: Frank Veldman placing 3rd in the long jump, 4th High Jump and 5th in the triple Jump. Shawn Wells placing 7th in the long Jump and Khalil Jordan placing 8th in the Triple jump.
Girls’ Track and Field: The Girls' Track and Field team finished 7th in an extremely close MSHSL meet this weekend. The team of Alex Beckman, Amanda Beckman, Paris Sanders and Mallory Burnham earned the team's first ever relay championship in the 4x100. Alex Beckman was 3rd in the triple jump and 10th in the 100. Amanda Beckman finished 4th in the long jump and also 5th in the 100. Anne Ferguson was 8th in the 800 and 11th in the 1600. Taryn Dwyer finished 15th in the 300 Meter Hurdles coming off a 3 day illness. Congratulations on not only a great state meet, but an extremely strong season.
Boys’ Lacrosse: Congratulations to the Eastview Boys Varsity Lacrosse Team for their 2nd Place finish in the State Lacrosse Tournament. The team lost to #1 seed Minnetonka by a score of 12-10 in a game that was back and forth for most of the four quarters. Scoring for the Lightning was Ben Bowar, Andy Freeman with 4 goals, Blake Kleven with 3 goals and one assist, DJ Schliesman, and Justin Vossen. Matt Durand had two assists and Rex Sanders had one. Goalie Ryan O'Shea had 8 saves! A great big THANK YOU to all of the fans who came to support the team during the tournament! Thanks for a great season and good luck to the graduating seniors!
CI Adapted Softball: The team coached by our own Jeff Anderson and Scott Oxley finished the season as state runner-up and a record of 17-1. The lost the championship to an incredible team from Osseo.
PI Adapted Softball: The defending state champions also finished the season as state runner-up and a record of 9-2. They lost the title game to an extremely tough Robbinsdale team.
Girls’ Golf: Freshman Sarah Detelfson finished third at the individual state golf championship at Bunker Hills. Sophomore Kristy Opatz finished 35th as an individual in the girls tournament.
Boys’ Golf: Congratulations to the Boys Varsity Golf team on their 4th place finish at the State Tournament yesterday, firing a 2 day total of 624. Senior captain Joe Petrulo shot a two day total of 148 to claim co-medalist honors earning him the prestigious title of STATE CHAMPION. Joe is the first golf state champion in school history. Congratulations to the following members of the state team on a great season: Senior Captains Joe Petrulo and Kyle Nesheim; seniors Chris Kotosky and Drew Bjordal; sophomores Sam Christian and Max Tylke. Other members of the varsity team include Senior Captain Blake Brunn; seniors Evan Yakowicz and Sam Rauchwarter; and junior Tony Companion.
