A few select members of the Eastview Speech and Debate team competed for the first time at the National Catholic Forensics League tournament in Appleton, WI.  We had an amazing inaugural event winning two team awards and taking 2 of the 10 champion awards.

Team Awards: 

The Founders Awards of Excellence in Speech. (only 5 awarded)

This Speech award is based on a school's top 10 entries, and Eastview only had 4 speech entries to begin with.  Lakeville North and Apple Valley were 2 of the other 4 schools that won the speech award. 

 

Daniel S. Masterson, Jr. Awards of Excellence in Forensics. (only 5 awarded)

This award is a difficult one to receive.  Only 5 schools are awarded it.  It's based on our top interpretation participant (Greg), our top debater (Jake Branchaud-Linsk), and our top Public Address (Akshar).  No other team in Minnesota won the Forensic award.

Greg Berman--Champion Dramatic Performance (of 200+)

Jake Branchaud-Linsk  Quarter Finalist LD Debate (top 8 of 200+)

Peter Ingles and Lindsey White --Semi-Finalists (10th place of 200+) Duo Interpretation

Overall, our Minnesota district (the "Winona Diocese") wins the tournament diocesan award for best overall performance.
