Thirty-two District 196 high school students were recently notified of their selection for the 2009-10 High School Honor Choirs which are supported by the North Central American Choral Directors Association. These choirs, comprised of the top singers from Minnesota and its five border states, will rehearse together and perform at Orchestra Hall next March.

Students selected for the honor choir are: Matt Davidson, Alex Norderhus, Jaclyn Anderson, Lauren Stepka, Alec Knop, Ryan Osgar, Michael Selchow, Peter Cassada, Erik Doucette, Garrett Dykstra, Sam Fouts, Ryan Wessel, Kyle Unzicker, Julia Pagh, Sarah Cartwright, Kelley Polum, Tesa Bertell, Liz Hawkins, Jenny Handke, and Victoria Richmond (alternate) of Eastview High.

Eight of our choir students were selected for the 9-10 Grade Honor Choir sponsored by the American Choral Directors Association.  We now have a total of 28 students recognized which is the most out of any Minnesota school.  The eight 9-10 graders are: Jaclyn Anderson, Kiersten Rustad, Dan Appleton, Brandon Temmel, Ben Habegger, Tom Dukatz, Chris Narum and Eric Hatzenbuhler.  They will perform in Minneapolis in February, 2010.
