Eastview's own Sarah Cartwright, a junior heavily involved in the theatre and choir departments, had the rare and outstanding experience to perform in this year’s Ivey Awards. The Ivey Awards, established in 2004, are meant to increase awareness about professional theatre in Minneapolis and Saint Paul as well as create a celebration for those who love and appreciate live theatre. They are the Twin Cities version of the Tony Awards.  After winning Best Supporting Actress in a Musical for her role in Eastview’s The Music Man in the Hennepin Theatre Trusts Spotlight Awards, Sarah was awarded the opportunity to perform at this celebration with 16 fellow teen performers from the metro area. The 2009 Ivey Awards event were held on Monday, September 21 at the historic State Theatre in downtown Minneapolis and feature entertainment provided by the Twin Cities theater community. Sarah performed in the finale number “Brand New You” from the new musical 13.
