Transportation Opportunities
District 196 owns and operates a fleet of nearly 200 buses for transporting students safely to and from school. Click here for the ISD 196 Transportation Home Page.
Bus transportation will be provided to:
- Elementary school students (grades k-5) who live more than 0.5 mile from school
- Middle school students (grades 6-8) who live more than 1 mile from school
- High school students (grades 9-12) who live more than 1 mile from school

Students who live within the non-busing area but must cross a hazardous crossing, as determined by district guidelines, receive bus transportation service. Administrative Regulation 707.2AR addresses these guidelines.
