VARSITY CO-HEAD COACH: MIKE HAUGH

Coach Haugh is enjoying his ninth year as a math teacher and coach at Eastview High School. After coaching Eastview's Junior Varsity Fastpitch team for three seasons, he joined the varsity staff in 2004 as an assistant coach. Prior to coming to Eastview, he spent 8 years at Mound Westonka High School as a teacher and varsity coach, compiling a lifetime 121-31 record, including a class A state championship in 1997, as well as section and state coach of the year honors. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of St. Thomas in 1992, and his graduate degree in Teacher Leadership from the University of Minnesota in 1997. Born and raised in St. Paul, (a proud graduate of Cretin-Derham Hall), coach Haugh now lives with his wife and two children at the Haugh Palatial Estates in Eagan.

VARSITY CO-HEAD COACH: TIFFANY ROSE

Coach Rose is in her fourth year of teaching Math at Rosemount Middle School and her first year of coaching for the Lightning. Prior to joining the Lightning, Coach Rose was a coach at Eagan High school as the freshman coach for 2 years and assistant varsity for the past 3 seasons. While at Eagan, the Varsity Wildcats were 55-18, section runner up in 2007, conference champions, section champions and state champions in 2008. Coach Rose was a graduate of Rosemount High School where she played softball for 5 years. She attended St. Cloud State University where she also played softball and earned a degree in Elementary Education. Currently she is working towards her master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Minnesota State University at Mankato.

 


FRESHMAN COACH: DAVE PUGH

CCoach Pugh grew up in St. Paul , and graduated from St. Paul Highland Park High School in ????, where he was captain of the football and baseball teams.  Dave joined the Army and while stationed at Ft. McClellan , Alabama , he played on the Military Police unit traveling fastpitch softball team. He was relocated to Heidelberg , Germany , where he played fastpitch softball for 3 years with the military traveling team. The team traveled all over Europe playing other American military base teams as well as teams from other countries. Dave coached inner city youth baseball at Dunning playground in St. Paul , and moved to Apple Valley in 1991. Dave and his wife, Deb, have two daughters, Lisa (a sophmore at the U of M) and Kelsey (a junior at Eastview High School ). Dave has been coaching EVAA Softball teams for more than 10 years and has been an active board member.

Athletic Trainer Doug Nelson is beginning his eleventh year at Eastview High School. Doug is employed by the Institute for Athletic Medicine and is contracted out to Eastview High School. Prior to coming to Eastview, Doug spent 15 years as the head athletic trainer at Augsburg College, 10 years as the assistant athletic trainer with the Minnesota Twins (including both World Championships), and 1 year at Brooklyn Center High School. Doug is a 1972 graduate from Stillwater High School and a 1976 graduate from Augsburg College. He also has a Master's degree in Athletic Administration from the University of St. Thomas in 1979. This is Doug's 29th year in the athletic training profession. He resides in Bloomington with his wife, Becky and their 5 year old daughter, Emily who was adopted from India.
