VARSITY COACH: Kathy O'Connor
Coach O'Connor is in her 1st year coaching at Eastview but brings 15+ years of experience to our program. Prior to coming to Eastview, Kathy spent 6 years at Cretin-Derham Hall coaching 9th grade, JV and Varsity softball as well as JV hockey and was a lead person in starting the Highland Little League softball program and coaching middle school girls. Kathy grew up in St.Paul and played softball throughout high school as well as traveling A leagues for three years. She recently changed jobs as is now self-employed working in community development and community engagement in low-income communities in South Minneapolis and the East Side of St.Paul. Prior to that, she spent 18 years at the Greater Twin Cities United Way, most recently as the director of Technology Capacity Building.
JUNIOR VARSITY ASSISTANTCOACH: Mike Tomlinson
Coach Tomlinson enters his seventh year as a member of the Lightning staff. This is his 7th year teaching at Eastview as well. This year he teaches Algebra I and Algebra II and Algebra Concepts. He is a 1991 graduate of Oxbow High School in Bradford , Vermont where he participated in a variety of athletic and arts activities. After high school Coach Tomlinson received his B.S. degree in Mathematics from Heidelberg College in Tiffin , Ohio . He received his Masters in Music degree from Youngstown State University in Youngstown , Ohio in 1998. He is currently an adjunct professor in music at North Central University in Minneapolis . He directs the choir at his church, and sings and is an assistant director for the South Metro Chorale. He currently resides in Saint Paul .
