Most Valuable Player

The Most Valuable Player is the person that has made the most significant contributions to the Eastview Varsity Fastpitch program. This player has made contributions game in and game out no matter what the situation. This is the person the softball team always counts on in a crucial situation or in a big game. This person is a positive leader both on and off the field.

Lightning Award

Through thought, voice and action this award winner is a person who believes, promotes and role models the guiding principles of Eastview High School. The Lightning Award winner is a leader in the classroom, the athletic arena, and throughout the community. The Lightning Award believes teamwork is important and understands the resources and talents of a focused group make everything possible.

Most Improved Player

This is the person who has made the most progress over the varsity season. From the very beginning of the season in March to the last softball game of the season this player has displayed the most improvement.

Best Offensive Player

This player was the person who produced the most offense for the Eastview Varsity softball team. This player may or may not have the best batting average. This player is the one most likely to produce at the plate.

Best Defensive Player

This player was the person who provided the Eastview Varsity with the best defense throughout the season. This person could be counted on to make plays in the field whenever necessary. The criteria for this award is someone who went above and beyond to keep opponents off base. This player sacrificed their body for stopping opponents offensive chances.

Hardest Worker

This player is one who most consistently had the best work ethic. This was determined by hustle at practice, a willingness to work hard in the batting cages, a person who was intense at practice and someone who was dedicated in the weight room. This player might not receive the glory of some of the other players, but they are an invaluable member to any team.

Rookie of the Year

This award goes to the player who made the most significant contribution to the Lightning Fastpitch program in their initial varsity season.

Outstanding Academic Athlete

This award goes to the outstanding student and softball player. This award was selected by the coaches based on academic success in the classroom.

Unsung Hero

This player is the one who didn't always receive the glory and headlines, but without their contributions to the team the Lightning could not have enjoyed the success they did. The unsung hero is the person who deserves credit for all the special things they bring to Lightning fastpitch that often go unnoticed.

All Conference Awards

This award goes to the player selected by the Lake Conference coaches for their excellence in varsity fastpitch softball

All-Conference Honorable Mention

This award goes to the player selected for their excellent season in the Lake Conference.       

All-Region 6AAA Award

This award goes to the player selected by the Region 6AAA coaches for their excellence in varsity fastpitch during the Region tournament.

All-State Award

This prestigious award goes to the player selected by Minnesota coaches for their excellence in varsity fastpitch softball.

All-State Honorable Mention Award

This prestigious award goes to the player selected by Minnesota coaches for their excellence in varsity fastpitch softball.

MSF Coaches All-Star Series

This award goes to the senior player/coaches selected by coaches for their excellence in varsity fastpitch softball. The player/coaches selected compete in an elite series of games at the end of the varsity softball season.

Academic All-State

This award goes to the player selected for their academic excellence in the high school classroom
