Eastview’s First Robotics Competition team, Cobalt Catalysts, Team 3042, will be competing at the Minnesota North Star regional tournament Friday, April 7 and Saturday, April 8 at Mariucci Arena.  Competition times are from 9:00 AM to approximately 5:00 PM.   Admission is free.  This year’s game titled FIRST STEAMworks has a steam punk theme where teams compete to Build Steam (shoot balls), Start Rotors (deliver ‘gears’) and Prepare for Flight (climb ropes) to launch their airship. FIRST Robotics Competition events are a great place for students to see how other students solve difficult physics challenges with a variety of solutions.  It is also a great place for business students to see how teams promote, brand, market and advertise. FIRST is a mentor-driven program where students learn directly from people with a variety of professional backgrounds.    It’s more than just the robots!

Join LEAP to see and discuss part of the video Plastic Ocean.  We will be making posters to help students understand the effects of ocean pollution and what they can do to limit their role in ocean pollution.  Everyone is welcome. See you Thursday at 2:30 in C337.
