Attention all parents of Spring Sport Student-Athletes: Many of our Spring sports at the sub-varsity levels have started concluding their seasons and all of our Spring sports will be wrapping up in the coming weeks.  We ask that each student-athlete as well as parents of student-athletes take the time to fill out the survey located on the Eastview Athletics Webpage (you can get there by going to www.eastviewathletics.com and clicking on “Lightning HQ.” One of the drop down choices under “Lightning HQ” is Parent Survey and one is Student-Athlete Survey.  These anonymous surveys are available to be filled out anytime throughout the year and provide valuable feedback to our coaching staff and athletic director as a part of the annual reflection process.  If you have a specific suggestion or concerns you would like to see addressed it is always recommended that you and/or your student athlete connect directly with the coach for the most immediate and individualized response.

We are once again very fortunate to be the hosts of the State Special Olympic Games here at Eastview High School again this summer!  The dates of this year’s event are June 22-24, 2017.  As everyone who attended the events last year can attest it is quite simply one of the absolute best events we host on our school grounds all year.  These athletes will compete in Track and Field (Thurs-Fri-Sat), Tennis (Fri-Sat), Gymnastics (Fri-Sat) and Volleyball (Fri-Sat), There are a total of 1200 competitors from around the state with hundreds of volunteers and hundreds of spectators!  Needless to say it is a huge event.  If you are coming to the building at all during the days of the event, but especially Friday and Saturday parking will be at a premium and there will be thousands of folks in and around EVHS.  They will offer shuttle buses from Apple Valley High School to deal with overflow and volunteer parking. There are still many volunteer slots to fill.  This is a great opportunity to see the games up close and donate some time to a great cause right here at EVHS as an individual, a family, a neighborhood or for a group/club/team etc. If you are interested in learning more about the Summer Games out please visit: https://specialolympicsminnesota.org/events/games/summer-games/ If you are interested in being a volunteer see the attached flyer and/or visit: www.somn.org/volunteer
