L.E.A.P. or the Lightning Environmental Awareness Program is an extracurricular program that was started in January 1998 by Ms. Noble.  Our goals are to promote and educate our community about environmental issues.  We celebrate recycling, energy conservation, wildlife research, and other important environmental areas at Eastview High School.

L.E.A.P. meets every Thursday in C337, Ms. Porterfield's 10th grade biology room, at 2:35p.m.  Our meetings focus primarily on developing innovative ideas to pursue, and planning our monthly field trips!

Some members of LEAP competed and took 10th out of 32 teams in the area IV Envirothon in May 2003 at the University of Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. It is a competition sponsored by the Soil and Water Conservation Districts. The students are tested in six areas of the environment: forestry, aquatics, wildlife, a current event, soils and agricultural land preservation.

We also took 5th in the 2004 envirothon!!

We encourage any and all participation!!!!!!
