ZAPP! Strikes Eastview High School

At the school pep fest on November 30, 2000, Eastview's new school  mascot was introduced to the student body.  ZAPP! was donated to Eastview High School by the senior class of 2000 and Student Council.

After Mr. Henry's introduction, ZAPP! rode into the gym on a motorcycle with Timberwolves mascot Crunch.  Click on the image above to watch a video clip of the first ever appearance of ZAPP!  You must have Windows Media Player to watch this clip.

Zapp! and Crunch worked together to pump up the crowd.  At the end of the pep fest, ZAPP! dunked a basketball and disappeared back into the electrical room to get ready for his next appearance.  Click on the image above to watch ZAPP! dunk.

MEET THE MASCOT: ZAPP!

On September 2, 1997 Eastview High School held its first day of school. The entire school went “bolt” crazy. The energy throughout the school was so electrifying that lightning struck the building late that evening. The bolt of lightning left enough electricity to create an electrical surge in one of the electrical rooms. Unseen by anyone for 3 1/2 years, the bolt began to change, taking the form of a human lightning bolt. ZAPP! was now half human and half bolt. Its’ purpose here is to help lead the Eastview Lightning to victory by charging them up and entertaining fans at our home games. ZAPP! believes in his mission at the finest high school in the state.
