Team 2009-2010: Eye of the Storm

2009-2010 Season Begins Monday, November 23rd!

The 2009-2010 Wrestling season will begin on Monday November 23rd. Students should register with Joan Beckman in the main office.

Parent Open House and Intra-Squad Meet will be held on Friday, December 4th!

The Eastview Wrestling Parent Open House will be held at 6:00 pm in the Main Commons.
The Eastview Wrestling Intra-Squad Meet will followin the Main Gym at 7:00 pm.
This is a great chance to meet others involved and see the wrestlers in action. We hope to see you there!

Commitment Night Scheduled for Friday, November 13th!

Eastview Wrestling would like to invite all wrestlers to attend Commitment Night on Friday the 13th. This is a great change to get to know your teammates and discuss goals for the season. If you are unable to attend, please see Mr. Habeck.

Pre-Season Wrestling Meeting

There will be a Pre-Season meeting for all students interested in wrestling on Wednesday, November 11th at 2:40 pm in Lecture Room C250. Any interested students should make an effort to stop in. If you are unable to make it, stop by A 208 and see Coach Habeck.

Wrestling Booster Club Meeting

There will be a meeting for the Wrestling Boosters on Wednesday, November 11th at 6:30 pm in Lecture Room C250. Please contact Coach Habeck if you are unable to attend.

Habeck and Fornicoia Honored!

Kurt Habeck and Nick Fornicoia were honored with the Section 3 AAA coach of the year and assistant coach of the year respectively. It is Habeck's first time receiving the award while Fornicoia has won the assistant award in the past. Congrats to these two well deserving individuals.

   The Varsity Team…

• Crowned Academic State Runner-up with a team GPA of 3.89, the highest in Eastview history.
• Earned 18 hard fought victories and a 7-2 finish in the Lake Conference.
• Earned Individual Tournament Championships at Eastview and Burnsville. 
• Had 9 wrestlers earn All Conference Honorable Mention and 1 earn All Conference Honors.  
• Participated in Super Section 3AAA and had 11 section place winners with 2 state qualifiers.
• Had 33 wrestlers get an opportunity to wrestle on varsity with 11 wrestlers earning at least 15 wins. 

   The Junior Varsity Team…

• Earned 19 dual meet wins and were crowned Lake Conference Champions for the first time. 
• Competed in the Annual Lake Conference JV Tourney earning 2nd place honors.     
• Earned 35 individual tournament championships.
• Participated in a varsity tourney at Mound-Westonka, earning 4th place honors.  

   The Freshman Team…    

• Had 24freshman and 7 middle school wrestlers learn the sport and complete the season. 
• Improved throughout the season, placing 3rd in their section and having 12 wrestlers place at Regions. 
• Earned 10 dual meet victories including being consolation finalists in the 9th Grade State Team Tourney.
• Kai Matsuhashi became a 9th grade state qualifier in his first year of wrestling.
