About Me
My name is Brenda Zirbel. I have been a parent educator with School District 196 Early Childhood Family Education program for 17 years. I currently work at the Rahncliff Learning Center in Eagan in the Red Room. I teach several classes with parents of two-year-olds, a toddler class and several topic classes throughout the week. I also work with teen/young parents and their young children, teaching a weekly class on Wednesday evenings.
My background includes a B.A. degree from San Diego State University, CA in Family Studies and Consumer Sciences along with a M.Ed. degree from St. Mary’s University, Winona, MN.
My husband and I have lived in Eagan for 23 years and are parents to two grown children. Our son and daughter-in-law live in Burnsville and are parents to our two grandchildren. Our daughter lives in Minneapolis and works for the Richfield school district.
Philosophy
As I began my graduate program in 1998, I was required to write my personal educational credo which I continually live by in my work as a parent educator. It is as follows…I will encourage the families I work with and hold true to my belief in teaching as a means to help others to help themselves.
