About Me
Hello! My name is Beth Hersman and I am an Early Childhood Educator currently teaching in our Family School literacy program and with Bridge to School our school readiness preschool program. I enjoy teaching all age groups. This is my 18th year teaching in District 196.
I have an undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education from The College of Saint Benedict and a Masters of Arts in Education from Hamline University.
I am married and have two sons. Our oldest is attending the University of San Diego, and our youngest is a junior at Eagan High School. We love to travel as a family, participate and cheer for a variety of spots, read, play board games and enjoy time outdoors.
Philosophy
My teaching style is very hands-on. I enjoy forming relationships with my students and setting them at ease so they can be open to learning all sorts of new skills. Reading is one of my favorite pastimes, and I have an extensive children’s picture book library. I try to share my love for the written word with all the children. Some of my favorite children’s authors are Eric Carle, Sandra Boynton, Lois Ehlert and Nancy Carlson.
