Principal's Page
Welcome to the Deerwood Elementary School website! Our school is located at 1480 Deerwood Drive in the heart of Eagan. We are a K-5 building currently serving approximately 500 students in the Eagan community. My name is Miles Haugen, and as principal I am thrilled to be a part of such an excellent school, one that has respectful and high achieving students, an outstanding and enthusiastic staff, and a supportive parent community. Our parents passionately contribute to the school community in countless ways, volunteering thousands of hours each year.
In addition to a positive school climate, we emphasize a strong challenging curriculum that supports student learning. Our staff is dedicated to building learning partnerships with students and families. Staff members at Deerwood are committed to providing each student an education that meets his or her learning needs. Each member of the Deerwood staff brings a special set of skills that makes Deerwood a dynamic place to learn and work.
During this exciting time in your child's life, we will work together to develop a positive, productive experience with our school. I encourage parents to become involved in their child's education. Your involvement enhances the importance of a shared vision and clear expectations for our children. We welcome your support in developing this strong home-school partnership, and we look forward to working closely with all families during the 2009-2010 school year.
