Daily Schedule

A sample daily schedule for a typical school day is as follows. Each teacher may have a schedule that varies slightly because of different lunch or specialist times. Please read the Deerwood Handbook (see link above) or visit the district website for more information about the curricumlum.

What's Happening in 4th Grade?

There are some exciting things happening in fourth grade including:

Jump Rope for Heart
Fourth grade students definitely give back to the community when participating in the annual Jump Rope for Heart program. The program is sponsored by the American Heart Association and organized by the physical education teacher. The students are placed in teams and jump to music for a total of 60 minutes. Each student takes home a prize (donated by a local establishment) and also a huge amount of pride knowing their work is helping others! What a fabulous way of getting exercise.

Fourth Grade Talent Show
Talent scouts.....where are you when we need you? You just never know what talents your children may have until you unleash their creativity and enthusiasm. Each spring Deerwood holds an annual fourth grade talent show in which every child is encouraged to break away and "show their stuff!" The talents range from piano playing, to dancing, to skits and even joke telling. The children perform in a non-threatening environment and all talents are appreciated. If you have been a fourth grader at Deerwood and had a chance to perform, I am sure your memories make you smile. If you have yet to go through the fourth grade at Deerwood, here is something to really look forward to! The more creative.........the better!!
