PARENT & COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS

SCHOOL COUNCIL & BOOSTER CLUB

Diamond Path School Council & Booster Club has been in existence since 1986. Its purpose is to enhance the educational program at Diamond Path and in the Diamond Path Community.

Over the past years, the School Council has sponsored or supported a number of school side special events. They have approved and sponsored fundraisers and have voted on grants and capital expenditures. They have established and helped to support the position of volunteer coordinator, art specialist and behavior support clerk. They have met and talked extensively about school budgets, school policies and new programs. School Council members often serve as representatives from Diamond Path to give input on district issues. The impact of the School Council is significant and continues to grow.

The School Council membership consists of 4 elected parents, 4 elected staff members, the president and vice-president of the Student Council, the volunteer involvement coordinator, the parent liaison to the district, and the principal. The term for School Council parents and elected staff members is 2 years. Elections for staff and parent representatives take place at spring conferences, with 2 representatives of each rotating each year.

The council meets one late afternoon per month from September to May. All Diamond Path community members are welcome to attend.
