GRADE FIVE

GRADE FIVE - Expectations

Fifth graders are expected to be responsible for their behavior and demonstrate leadership at Diamond Path.

As part of the Bridge to Success program, fifth graders will maintain an organized binder. This contains all notes and homework assignments, expect it to come home on a daily basis. The students have planners to record daily homework assignments and need to be initialed by a parent nightly

Every Friday, students take home their Friday Folders which includes the classroom weekly update and important school information. This is our weekly communication tool for informing families.

Classroom-specific information can be found by visiting your teacher's website by clicking on your teacher's name at the left side of this page.

Fifth graders are expected to read at least 30 minutes a night. If they participate in band, they should practice 30 minutes daily. Daily homework may include math assignments, word study, writing entries, Time For Kids Magazine and other special research projects. Parents are encouraged to support homework efforts by providing a consistent atmosphere for completing work as well as encouraging independence.
