CID PROGRAM

CID - MUSIC

Students in the CID program at Diamond Path participate in music groups every day for 25 minutes. The program goals for the music groups include: building self-esteem, developing and refining auditory processing skills, enhancing speech and language skills, improving fine and gross motor skills, encouraging attention to task, developing appropriate social skills, promoting academic concepts and expanding leisure time activities.

During the music sessions the students participate in a variety of activities. We sing, dance, play instruments, play games, look at books, and listen to music. Although all of our activities involve music, we are working on a variety of objectives that relate to other areas of the children's day.

The CID music specialist also joins the students when there are CID program holiday parties or special events. During thses events there are whole group sing-a-longs where everyone enjoys singing and dancing together.
