We are collecting for the Leukemia and lymphoma Society through their program called Pennies for Patients. This is a month-long collection. Students brought home small boxes that they can use to collect change at home. Thanks for your cooperation.
The Cedar Park Student Council is based on developing a positive school climate at Cedar Park. Our student council representatives are from grades 2-5. They meet weekly with Mrs. Gillman and plan ideas for school-wide projects. These projects are primarily geared toward community service such as collecting food for our local foodshelf, clothing and toys for the Crisis Nursery, etc. We also sponsor school-wide spirit days, such as "Slipper Day" and "Sports Day".The Student Council is also responsible for running our school store, which is open once-a-week before school.
The school store sells pencils, pens and other small fun items. We are always collecting Campbell soup labels which we redeem for library and Physical Education and recess equipment. Another program we participate in is General Mills Box Tops for Education. In this program we can collect 10 cents for every box top. Other programs that we are engaged in are the Kemps Give 'em Five bottle caps and Land 'O Lakes caps. For each bottle cap and/or coupon turned in we receive 5 cents. This money also goes toward recess equipment, library books and videos. Last year we earned over $1,500 from all of these programs combined. Please keep those soup labels, box tops, bottle caps and coupons coming!
