Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM)
A Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) magnet is designed for students who enjoy challenges and investigating the world around them. Teachers will use an innovative, hands-on curriculum to involve the children in asking questions and finding answers to real world issues. In this technologically advanced school, technology will be a strong tool to help students learn. With engineering, the students will work on projects that allow them to creatively design and build, putting into practice their math, science, reading, and communication skills.
Cedar Park Elementary is one of 18 elementary schools in Independent School District 196, Minnesota's fourth largest school district located in the south suburban area of Minneapolis/St. Paul.
Cedar Park is located in Apple Valley. It first opened its doors in 1977. During the summer of 2005 new office space was added and classroom modifications were made to the building.
We currently have approximately 580 students and 80 staff members in kindergarten through fifth grades. Class size average is 18 to 1 in grades K-3 and 19.5 in grades 4-5.
We believe a positive learning and working environment will net success for all. We hold high expectations for our students and strive to reach each student's potential. Cedar Park is a vibrant learning community.
Teachers at Cedar Park have received training in restitution, a proactive process that ties in closely to our belief system.
