In addition to the fees listed here, charges may be assessed:

  • for additional staff costs for custodians, supervision, lifeguards, food and nutrition service employees, and/or theater technicians and truck services.
  • for air conditioning, which is required in theaters/ auditoriums when the outdoor temperature exceeds 70 degrees Fahrenheit.


Classification descriptions for Fee Purposes

Class I

  • School organizations and parent-teacher groups
  • Community Education Department sponsored activities
  • District or school-recognized booster group activities
  • City park and recreation programs
  • Local, state and national election polls and caucuses
  • Board of Education activities

Class II

  • Community athletic associations
  • Non-school community organizations (such as scouts, 4-H, swim clubs, etc.)
  • Governmental agencies serving mostly School District 196 residents
  • Groups that hold activities that benefit mostly School District 196 residents (such as townhouse associations, local clubs, etc.)

  • For-profit organizations and/or private groups which provide educational, civic, recreational or charitable activities and do not charge admission
  • Religious organizations
  • Colleges and universities
  • Group activities that benefit mostly non-District 196 residents

Class IV

  • Individuals, private agencies, companies and vendors that use district facilities for commercial purposes or profit.
