Kindergarten Plus
 Kindergarten Plus (K-Plus) is an optional, fee-based, extended day program that complements half-day (free) kindergarten. The program is a collaboration between Elementary Education, which oversees the morning kindergarten program, and Community Education, which administers the afternoon Kindergarten Plus program. Morning and afternoon sessions are taught by a licensed kindergarten teacher, resulting in a cohesive, all-day experience for students.
Kindergarten Plus is available at all District 196 elementary schools.
2013-14 Application Information
We are currently accepting applications for the 2013-14 Kindergarten Plus program. Please submit your complete application and $170 deposit to:

Please note: Applying for the Kindergarten Plus program does not replace registration for kindergarten at your elementary school. Please see the Parents' Guide to Kindergarten or contact your school for more information.

Financial Assistance
Limited financial assistance is available for School District 196 residents, based on federal standards for free or reduced-price meals. If you wish to apply for financial assistance, you must complete the Application for Financial Assistance and provide documentation of the income amounts you list there. Income documentation must include one of the following:
- Copy of the family's last three paycheck stubs, or
- Copy of the family's W-2 from the most recent tax year
These documents are due at the time you apply for Kindergarten Plus Fee Assistance.
