ABE offers programs for adults to improve their skills so
they can move ahead in their jobs, prepare for further education
or improve their daily lives.

Adult
High School Diploma (21 and older) If
you are an adult who needs only a few credits to graduate,
you may participate in Diploma classes to earn
credits and receive a high school diploma from Independent
School District 196. Classes are small
to meet your needs. Note that you must attend an orientation
before starting class.
ALP Alternative
Diploma (ages 16-21) Young adults who want to earn a diploma from Independent School
District 196 may attend classes to earn the needed credits.
Classes are specially designed for students who may
benefit from smaller groups and one-on-one instructor time.
Adult reading Learn to read
or brush up on your reading skills.
GED Diploma There are five
tests for the GED Diploma - math, science, social studies,
reading, and writing. Come to classes, where you can pre-test
and study to pass the state GED.
Cant
get to class? Need child care? We have transportation and
child care available! Ask when you register for your program.
English
as a Second Language (ESL) Learn skills in listening,
speaking, reading and writing English. Beginning, intermediate
and advanced classes are offered. Study to become an American
citizen. We also have videos for you to check out to study
English at home.
Basic Skills Improvement
Improve your reading, writing, math and spelling skills.
Work Preparation Learn skills
to succeed on the job. Instruction is available in computers,
math, reading, communications and listening. Call 952-431-8316

NEW On-line ABE programs! Work
on reading, writing, math, GED preparation, English and more
at home on your computer! You will need to take a test before
starting so you can find out what you need to work on and
we can give you the right lessons. From time to time, you
will need to check in with a teacher. Register at an ABE center
or call 651-683-8585 or 952-431-8316 for information.
