Improvements at Rosemount Elementary School, Rosemount Middle School and Rosemount High School will be featured during the District 196 “Safe and Successful Schools Showcase” tour scheduled for Tuesday, May 14, 6-7:30 p.m.

The 90-minute tour will begin promptly at 6 p.m. at the entrance to Rosemount Elementary, 3155 143rd St. W., will continue to Rosemount Middle and will end at Rosemount High. Principals from these three schools will guide the tour and bus transportation will be provided between schools.

Over the last three years, schools all across District 196 received improvements to safety and security, upgraded spaces for learning and increased access to technology with funding provided by a bond referendum approved by district voters in 2015. The last of these improvements were completed earlier this year at the Rosemount schools.

  • Rosemount Elementary received a new secure entrance and office area, upgraded security equipment and new bus loop behind the school to relieve congestion at both the elementary and middle school.
  • Rosemount Middle received a secure entrance and office area, cosmetic improvements to the exterior and upgrades to the parking lot, student drop-off and pickup areas and access roads. All middle schools also received some new furniture in several learning spaces.
  • Rosemount High received a secured entrance and glass-wall addition across the front of the building to improve traffic flow, increase natural light into the building and provide a gathering space for students and visitors. There is also an addition to the performing arts area and some existing spaces were renovated. Rosemount’s parking lot was completely redone and reconfigured for increased safety, directing traffic to the back side of the lot and eliminating the road that previously cut between the parking lot and school.
