ROSEMOUNT, Minn. — District 196 is accepting applications through April 15 for two parent positions and four staff positions on its Gifted and Talented Advisory Council (GTAC). The term for all open positions is for three years, beginning July 1, 2019.

Applicants for the two open parent positions should have a child enrolled in a district high school who was previously identified for the district’s Gifted and Talented (GT) or Young Scholars (YS) programs, or is interested in advanced academic coursework at the high school level. Staff positions are open for three elementary school teachers, including one classroom teacher and two GT teachers, and one middle school GT teacher. Members of the local business community are also welcome to apply for membership on the GTAC.

The purpose of the council is to ensure community awareness and understanding of the district’s GTYS programs, and to provide input to the district’s Curriculum and Instruction Advisory Council and administration on GTYS programming plans that support district goals, policies and initiatives.
