District 196 is hosting an event to celebrate the many languages and cultures represented among the students and families in its schools. The second annual “One District, Many Voices” event will be held Thursday, April 4, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at Eagan High School.

The event will feature activity booths representing different cultural customs, languages and traditions for people of all ages. Students will be sharing their perspectives on the importance of cultural recognition, social justice and equality. Attendees can also explore a landscape of flavor featuring foods from around the world.

“One District, Many Voices” is organized by District 196 high school students in collaboration with the district’s Equity and Inclusion and English Learner programs. It supports the district’s mission of providing a learning environment that supports student connectedness and inclusion.

The event is free, but donations are welcome. All proceeds will go directly to District 196 students to support their continued work in diversity and inclusion. For more information, contact Rashelle Redmon at 651-423-7825 or rashelle.redmon@district196.org.
