District 196 celebrates Clerical and Secretarial Employees Appreciation Week in conjunction with American Education Week and Education Support Professionals Day. In recognition of and appreciation for the excellent work they do, the School Board approved the following resolution at its Nov. 5 meeting.

District 196 Clerical and Secretarial Employees Appreciation Week

Whereas:  There are more than 800 clerical and secretarial employees who work in Independent School District 196 on a full- or part-time basis;

Whereas:  Our clerical and secretarial employees fill a variety of important positions in the district, including but not limited to, school and building secretaries, bookkeepers, accounting clerks, receptionists, computer clerks, instructional clerks, paraprofessionals, library and media clerks, behavior support clerks, teaching assistant clerks, basic skills clerks and instructional clerks;

Whereas:  Our clerical and secretarial employees provide valuable support to help teachers teach and students learn;

Whereas:  Our clerical and secretarial employees provide services essential for the day-to-day operations of our schools and district, and

Whereas:  Our clerical and secretarial employees work with students, parents, teachers and administrators as a vital part of the District 196 team.

 Therefore, be it resolved: the School Board of Independent School District 196, Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan Public Schools, hereby extends its appreciation to clerical and secretarial employees for the vital role they play in supporting the education of our students to reach their full potential, and declares November 12-16, 2018 to be Clerical and Secretarial Employees Appreciation Week in District 196.
