Maintenance Support Employees

Whereas:    There are nearly 200 maintenance support employees who work in Independent School District 196 on a full- or part-time basis;

Whereas:    Our maintenance support employees fill a variety of important positions in the district including custodial aides, custodians, warehouse checkers, groundskeepers, truck drivers, mechanical specialists, building chiefs and head groundskeepers;

Whereas:    Our maintenance support employees help to provide a safe, secure and clean environment, conducive to teaching and learning;

Whereas:    Our maintenance support employees help protect the community’s investment in school buildings, grounds and equipment, and

Whereas:    Our maintenance support employees work with students, parents, teachers and administrators as a vital part of the District 196 team.

Therefore, be it resolved: the School Board of Independent School District 196, Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan Public Schools, hereby extends its appreciation to the maintenance support employees of District 196 for the vital role they play in supporting the education of our students to reach their full potential, and declares November 13-17, 2017 to be Maintenance Support Employees Appreciation Week in District 196.
