Eagan High School swimmer Jasper Appleton had two third-place and two fifth-place finishes at the boys’ swimming and diving Class AA state tournament March 2-4 at the University of Minnesota.

Appleton, Mike Kehoe and Colin Kehoe earned third-place medals as members of Eagan’s 200- and 400-yard freestyle relay teams. Noah Baum was the other member of the 200-yard relay team and Caiden Kuehn was part of the 400-yard relay team that took third place. Appleton also took fifth place in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly.

Three other District 196 swimmers made it to the finals in their event. Sam Pekarek of Eastview earned a second-place medal in the 100-yard breaststroke and took sixth place in the 200-yard individual medley; Stephen Satnik of Rosemount High School was seventh in 1-meter diving, and Quenton Steffen of Eagan finished seventh in the 100-yard breaststroke.

In the team competition of the Class AA state tournament, Eagan finished in sixth place, Eastview was 12th and Rosemount 29th.
