Summer Reading Challenge

All BHMS students (including incoming sixth graders) are invited to take on the Summer Reading Challenge. Find a copy of the books that follow and read them at your leisure over the summer. When you return in the fall youÕll be able to participate in a contest/discussion with other kids about what youÕve read. YouÕll have fun, youÕll read some great books, and youÕll get to meet some other kids next fall. Make it your goal to read them all, but you can still participate in the fall if youÕve finished any four of the titles. Now kick back and start reading! When we start up again in September, listen for announcements and watch the Panther Pause for more information.

Are You Interested in Robotics?

This summer, Community Ed is offering a Robotics Workshop for students entering grades 8-12. July 21-25, 1-4 PM, Eagan High School. $99 for five classes. The workshop provides a great opportunity for students interested in engineering to learn what makes a robot go. Using VEX (metal erector-set pieces) and Lego NXT robotics kits, practice designing and building robots, learn the basics of programming and participate in discussions on what makes a good robot. For more information, see Mr. Mackaman or go to www.district196.org/ce.
