Audition Information

Each spring we hold auditions for placement into our concert band program for the following school year. All current 9th, 10th, and11th grade students will be asked to prepare scales and perform two short etudes. In addition, as part of the audition, all students will perform a short sight-reading example. The results of these auditions will be posted in April. Students will be placed in one of our three concert bands: Concert Band, Symphonic Band or Wind Ensemble.

In the fall, our ninth graders performing at a higher level are eligible to audition for potential placement in our Wind Ensemble. All remaining ninth grade students are placed in the Ninth Grade Band for the entire school year.

During first trimester in the fall, all 10th, 11th and 12th grade students are placed in our Marching Band program until the football season ends. After this time, students are divided into the concert bands they were placed in during spring auditions.
