Apple Valley High School emphasizes educational excellence and innovation with a concern for mastering basic skills as a foundation for further study. Over 125 staff members are committed to curricular and co-curricular programs that prepare students for today and tomorrow while assisting them to appreciate the yesterdays from which their opportunities were generated.

Apple Valley High School offers over 300 required and elective trimester courses. This allows students a vast choice of opportunities and challenging experiences.

15 mathematics courses through Calculus BC, 5 years of Spanish, 4 years of French, German and Japanese Honors and advanced courses in Freshman English; Literature; Speech; Composition; Composition 1 and 2; Algebra II; Geometry; Pre-Calculus; Chemistry; Physics; Biology; Accounting; Spanish 2, 3, 4; Computer Applications; Dance Performance; Art; and Industrial Technology.

Advanced Placement courses in Studio Art, Language and Composition, Literature and Composition, European History, American History, U.S. Government/Politics, Biology, Chemistry, Calculus, Statistics, Advanced Placement Psychology and Macroeconomics.

College in the Schools (CIS) classes in Public Speaking, Anatomy and Physiology, Spanish V and Macroeconomics. The Apple Valley High School Media Center is an extension of the classroom and serves students research and information requirements. It provides 170 networked information computers which index encyclopedias, magazines and newspapers through on-line databases and a 200,000 Item collection which is searchable on the internet. Instructional Technology Center, (ITC), serves as the hub for development of curricular utilization of multimedia. Video, interactive TV, multimedia production, CD-ROM, scanners, and cable TV are components used in this process. All multimedia computers are networked and provide Internet searching for information. AVHS has a first class television production studio with cutting edge technology complete with several high-end editing suites. AVHS also is the origination site for the Districts Education cable TV channel, operating 24 hours each day of the year, providing district programming and information to District citizens.
