The study of World Languages provides students with a comprehensive education and the worldwide perspective necessary to become global citizens. Research shows that language learning supports academic achievement, provides cognitive benefits, and affects attitudes and beliefs about language learning and about other cultures. Below are the class offerings in our district’s elementary, middle and high schools. It is recommended that students take a minimum of three to four years of uninterrupted study of one of the languages offered in order to:

  • increase proficiency in the language
  • ensure that they are eligible to apply to the college of their choice and be prepared for college language
    study
  • fulfill college entrance and exit requirements (for some colleges)
  • achieve greater personal satisfaction

Students are also invited to study more than one language!
