The school psychologist is a member of the special education staff who works with students, parents, and teachers in a variety of capacities.

The psychologist's role includes assessment for special education eligibility, intervention planning and implementation, consultation with parents and teachers, crisis prevention and intervention, and direct psychological, emotional, or behavioral support services to students who show a recognized educational need for this level of intervention. In addition, the psychologist is a resource on many psychological, developmental, and educational issues for parents as well as school personnel.
