Inagural event was Thursday, February 7th, 2008. We worked copperatively with Oak Ridge Elementary to provide a downhill skiing and snowboarding opportunity for students of Thomas Lake and Oak Ridge Elementary Schools. Participants had the opportunity to rent or bring their own equipment, get ski lessons and practice their learnings on the hills of Welch Village Ski & Snoboarding Area. We left Thomas Lake at 4:00 PM, picked up students at Oak Ridge, then got to Welch village by 5:00 PM for equipment rental. Lessons were at 6:00 PM. Individual skiing started around 7:00 PM. We boarded our bus buy 8:00 PM and arrived back at Thomas Lake for parent reunification about 9:00 PM. We skiied for 2 more Thursday nights on February 14 & 21.

Our hope is that this can be an annual event. We are planning on going Thursdays February 4, 11 & 18 in 2010! Sorry cancelled in 2009 due to lack of enrollment.
