We are reading individually, in groups and as a class. Please be sure your student reads each night and you read to them. Reading should be 15 minutes of your evening each day. It is so important for beginning readers to practice. We have been working on addition. After break we will begin subtraction. We have math homework every week. The students have a week to complete the pages. Please be sure they are completed and handed in. For writers' workshop, we are telling our stories across our fingers and adding a thought or feeling to our writing. We worked on plants in science for the first months of school. Next we learn about solids and liquids, and 3rd trimester we learn about the weather. Now we are working on social studies--how we are alike and different, how to be a good listening partner and a good speaker. We practice must know words each week.
